As the name suggests, a solar phone battery charger harnesses the power of the sun (a.k.a solar energy) to provide electricity to your gadgets or charge the battery. The benefit of these portable devices is that they don't need an external electrical power source to work, making them great for outside enthusiasts or people who many not have access to a power outlet right now (like if you're at a music celebration in the middle of the desert or midway through a beautiful walking).

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, we evaluate tech items from water resistant speakers to gas leak detectors. To check solar charges, we take them to our standard light space and time the length of time it takes to completely charge each unit. Then, we see how long it requires to charge various gadgets over 400 hours of battery draining over our newest testing.
